The focus of this blog is cooking with an emphasis on baking. I have always loved to cook & come from a family with a long line of good cooks. My great-grandmother is Miss Mary Bobo of Lynchburg, Tennessee. With the prompting of my husband, I followed her footsteps into the food business. But I did it with my own twist! Instead of a boarding house, I opened a cake shop that sells cookies, cakes, cupcakes, muffins & scones made from scratch with quality ingredients.

The cake shop is why there is an emphasis on baking in the blog. At Sugary Creations, we sell old-timey treats like Thumbprint Cookies. Remember those? The ones with jam in the middle of them. Our Coconut Cake uses 7-Minute Frosting & is covered in coconut. Numerous times, I’ve been told that I have the best Carrot Cake there is. We also sell unusual goodies like Orange Marmalade Cookies–Paddington Bear would give anything to get his paws on them. Carrot Cake Cookies are also proving to be very popular!

Trying out new recipes is my idea of fun. Successfully passed on a love of baking to one daughter & hopefully will succeed in passing it to the 2 granddaughters. I hope we’ll have many chats on the blog with people who have the same love of cooking. Sit down & grab a cup of coffee or a glass  of milk. Let’s talk about food!
